Pack 258 will be walking in the Memorial day parade on Monday May 27th.
Line up for the parade begins at 8:30am at Vine Street Park.
The parade begins at 9 am.
We will travel to the West Newton Cemetery, pausing at the World War One memorial on main to render honors as well as on the West Newton Bridge to honor those who died at sea.
Once we reach the flag at the cemetery we will participate in raising our colors (sometimes are scouts are asked to lead the pledge).
I will release the scouts to their families after the pledge.
A ceremony follows this and you are welcome to stay for it. It can be very moving but also very long for younger scouts.
Bring your scout some water for the end of the parade. It is a long walk for their little legs.
Parents are welcome to walk with us or drop off their scout and park at the cemetery.
If you are dropping off your scout please physically see me before and after so I know who I need to keep an eye on.
Scouts should wear their field uniform (button up shirt) with pants or jeans. No sweat pants or gym shorts please.
Any questions feel free to ask.
See you Monday,
Jennifer
